Engineering to OEM standards: VASS, INTEGRA, TIA Portal, EPLAN
Automotive plant construction runs on the manufacturers' standards. Steyer Engineering is an ISO 9001:2015 certified engineering company from Kazakhstan with German- and English-speaking engineers who work to these standards on site and remotely: in project and site management, commissioning and CAD, and where a work package needs it, in controls, robotics and simulation. This page lists the standards and tools our core team and specialist network work with.
Volkswagen VASS and Mercedes-Benz INTEGRA
For Volkswagen Group plants we work to the VASS standard, for Mercedes-Benz plants to INTEGRA. That covers the structure of the controls, the robot programs, the documentation, and the acceptance steps the plant expects. Our project and site managers know these standards from Volkswagen and Mercedes-Benz plants in Germany, Hungary, Slovakia, Spain, and China.
Siemens S7, TIA Portal and WinCC
In controls, Siemens S7 with TIA Portal and WinCC is standard for us: PLC programs, HMI screens, I/O checks, and changes during commissioning, in line with the OEM standard of the plant.
EPLAN Electric P8
Electrical design and circuit diagrams in EPLAN Electric P8, including the changes during installation and the as-built documentation for the handover.
Robotics: KUKA, ABB and Fanuc
Robot cells with KUKA, ABB, and Fanuc robots: path checks, commissioning, and integration into the line controls, on site during start-up.
Simulation and virtual commissioning
Siemens Process Simulate for robot cells and reachability, Plant Simulation for material flow and cycle times, and virtual commissioning, in which the PLC logic runs against the model before the hardware is live.
Who does the work
A lean core team leads the projects. The engineers come from a fixed circle of external specialists who work for us on a long-term basis and from a vetted network, so we can put together teams to match scope and schedule. The work runs under a contract for work with our own project lead and in our ISO 9001:2015 process.
Frequently asked questions
Do your engineers know the VASS standard?
Yes. VASS is normal working practice for our project managers, site managers, and commissioning engineers on Volkswagen Group projects. INTEGRA is the same for Mercedes-Benz plants.
Can you commission on site with TIA Portal and WinCC?
Yes. On-site commissioning with Siemens S7, TIA Portal, and WinCC is standard for us, including the changes and documentation the plant standard requires.
Which robot brands do you work with?
KUKA, ABB, and Fanuc. The team checks paths, commissions the cells, and connects them to the line controls.
Do you also do virtual commissioning?
Yes, where the work package needs it: models in Process Simulate and Plant Simulation, and virtual commissioning in which the PLC logic is tested against the model before start-up.
