Steyer Engineering

Automotive plant engineering as defined work packages

Steyer Engineering takes on defined work packages under a contract for work (German: Werkvertrag): with our own project lead, a fixed scope, agreed deliverables, and acceptance. A core team runs the projects. The engineers come from a fixed circle of external specialists who work for us on a long-term basis, backed by a vetted network. We do not supply staff on temporary assignment.

What a contract for work means with us

You order a result, not the hours of individual people. The scope, dates, checks, and acceptance criteria are written into the order. We provide the project lead, plan the staffing ourselves, and report on progress, risks, and quality. Contracts are shaped to the project, from a single work package to the complete site management.

Core team and specialist network

The core team in Kazakhstan handles project management, quality management, and resource planning. The engineers on site are mainly external specialists who work for Steyer Engineering on a long-term basis, plus further vetted experts from our network when a project needs them. They all work under our project lead and in our ISO 9001:2015 process, and on site they speak German and English, some also Russian.

Main services

Our main field is project management and site management in automotive plant construction. Commissioning, CAD and layout, and mechanical design come next, with PLC, robotics, and simulation where the package needs them. Coordinating contractors on site is explicitly part of our ISO 9001:2015 certificate.

Standards and tools

We work to the manufacturers' standards, such as the Volkswagen VASS standard and Mercedes-Benz INTEGRA. In controls, Siemens S7 with TIA Portal and WinCC is standard, in electrical design EPLAN. Robotics: KUKA, ABB, and Fanuc. Simulation: Siemens Process Simulate and Plant Simulation.

Who we work for

General contractors in automotive plant construction and manufacturers directly. Our engineers have worked on projects for Volkswagen, BMW, Audi, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, and ZF, mostly within the teams of large general contractors such as thyssenkrupp. As a company, we most recently provided site management at the Mercedes-Benz plant in Kecskemét, Hungary, for new model series and the removal of the previous models' equipment, on behalf of thyssenkrupp Automotive Body Solutions and Atinel.
